How to Add a Watermark Across the Entire Timeline in Shotcut v25
To put a watermark (such as a logo or text) across your entire video in Shotcut v25, follow these steps:
1. Prepare Your Watermark Image
- Use a PNG image with a transparent background for best results.
- If you want the watermark to cover the entire screen (tiled/repeated), you can use an online tool like imageonline.co to repeat your logo and create a full-screen watermark image.
2. Add a New Video Track
- Right-click in the timeline area.
- Go to Track Operations and select Add Video Track.
- This new track should be above all other video tracks so the watermark stays visible.
3. Import and Place Your Watermark
- Drag your watermark image (logo or repeated pattern) into the new video track.
- Stretch the image clip to match the entire length of your project on the timeline.
4. Adjust Watermark Appearance
- Select the watermark clip.
- Go to the Filters panel.
- Add the following filters:
5. Export Your Video
- Once satisfied, export your project as usual. The watermark will appear across the entire video.
Tips:
- If you want to use text as a watermark, add a Text: Simple filter to the new video track instead of an image.
- For repeated/tiled watermarks, create a single image file with your logo repeated, then use that as your watermark layer.
- Adjust the opacity to ensure the watermark does not distract from your main content.
This method ensures your watermark appears consistently over the entire timeline, regardless of edits or cuts in the main video tracks.
